When asked if the glass is half full or half empty, Ahmet says it doesn’t matter as in both instances you can fill it up! Pragmatic and forward-looking, he has been contributing to the success of the Transporeon Group since he joined back in 2003.
Passionate about his role as Managing Director, Ahmet doesn’t even recognize this as work. He has particular responsibility for research and development, infrastructure and operations, customer services, customer projects, and IT security. For him, the customer is positioned front and center of the entire chain of operations. For example, he prioritizes the need to optimize customer onboarding, provide all required support, and ensure relevant solutions are available on reliable and secure platforms. He is a firm believer in continuous improvement and collaborative teamwork, stating “We are one team”.
If a business is experiencing fast growth in an international market, it’s likely to be on Olaf’s radar. As CFO of Transporeon Group, he has a background and keen interest in financial consulting and audit for many top-performing companies across Europe. He is also very familiar with best financial practices in booming high-tech organizations.
Sitting behind a desk is not one of Olaf’s specialties. He particularly relishes every opportunity to conduct C-level customer discussions, and is often to be found debating, directing and ensuring final approval of the most important Transporeon Group contracts. Key responsibilities include structuring of the group’s growth strategy and managing the relationship with a broad range of financial stakeholders including blue-chip customers, private equity firms, investment banks, and business partners. Out of office hours, Olaf spends time with his family and enjoys gardening as well as sporting and cultural events.
Along with sales and logistics expertise, active listening is one of Thomas’ particular skills. He believes that you can learn something new from every discussion; the trick is merely to be curious and interested. So it is very unlikely that you will find Thomas and his team talking too much about features and functions. Instead, you will probably notice they are asking questions and listening carefully before considering how to meet customer needs and developing appropriate new products and services.
Thomas is in regular contact with many customers, with direct responsibility for their requirements. While he recognizes the profound benefits of digitalization, he also retains a personal, human approach: “For certain topics, it’s essential to use the telephone or better still arrange a face-to-face meeting”. To achieve a healthy work/life balance, he tries not to be online all the time. Some weekends, he even uses the off button on his mobile phone!
Peter Förster studied industrial engineering in Kempten/Neu-Ulm and Ulm with a strong focus on Marketing. Following graduation he joined Siemens ICN Information and Communications Networks as a Junior Marketing Consultant, at the same time working to set up Transporeon GmbH with friends from his time at university. The company was founded in the year 2000. As Managing Director, Förster focuses primarily on product and innovation management.
Leander Kling began his career at Siemens AG, where he was a Sales Manager for IT solutions and worked with key accounts involved in trade and industry.
From 2005 to 2008 he was a Key Account Manager at Transporeon, responsible for acquiring and looking after new customers as well as project management with the focus on both time slot management and loading management. In September 2008 Kling joined Transporeon as a Product Manager with responsibility for the development and expansion of the new Mercareon platform. When Mercareon was established as a spin-off in 2010, Leander King became Head of Sales with responsibility for the further development of the Mercareon platform. He has been Managing Director of Mercareon since 2011.
After his studies of Business Sciences in Augsburg Mr. Mack, started his professional career at Kässbohrer Fahrzeugwerke in Ulm with a strong focus on SAP Projects nationally as well as internationally. In November 2004 he took over leading tasks for SAP ERP Systems and IT Systems for shipper at Transporeon. In 2010 Mr. Mack became Managing Director for the technical area at Transporeon. Here he can perfectly use his expert knowledge in SAP R/3, mySAP (Module MM, FI, CO, HR, SD, LES, Basis) as well as his experiences in leading positions.

In his role as Chief Sales Officer, he’s responsible for the strategy and direction of the global sales and marketing organization, and he leads this team with energy and integrity. As well as urging his colleagues to place customers at the heart of day-to-day endeavors, he also encourages sharing ideas for continuous improvement.
Peter regularly meets with customers, seeking out every opportunity to discuss their requirements for the digitalization of logistics processes and identify best-fit Transporeon solutions. Prior to joining the Group, Peter’s career spanned 20 years of international management roles with other leading software companies. Most recently, he was Adobe’s Managing Director and Vice President of Adobe Systems, responsible for business in Central Europe, Russia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Marc-Oliver Simon, studied Industrial Engineering at university of applied science Neu-Ulm and university of applied science Ulm. His international experience he got at University of México D.F. and at Lincoln University, Christchurch (New Zealand). Directly after his final degree in August 2000 he founded together with former fellow students Transporeon GmbH in Ulm. They developed the in the today europewide leading internet logistics platform Transporeon, which is focused on optimal completion of operational processes in the transportation logistics. At Transporeon Group Marc-Oliver Simon is today as Managing Director responsible for different strategic initiatives.
